Curious about doing a Triathon? Have no clue what it entails? Here’s a short overview of what you would be getting yourself into.

Three events: Swim, Bike, Run.

There are a range of choices at most events that will make Triathlon doable. Beginning with a Tri-it! style race, you’ll get in the water for about 1/4 mile, bike for 12.5 miles and run 3 miles. No sweat! If you think you can handle a bit more of a swim, sign up for the Sprint. In this event, you will simply add twice the swim (1/2 mile). If you are ready for the Olympic (sometimes called the “Short Course”) you will swim one mile, bike for 25, and run 6. The “Long Course” will push you to swim 1.2 miles, bike 56 and run a half-marathon. If you are ready for the Ironman, you don’t need to be reading this, you are a stud.
